Common questions

Is the free tier really permanent?

Yes. Public repos are free forever — no trial, no credit card, no expiry. Limn's business model is built on private repos and enterprise teams, not time-limiting the open-source tier.

What counts as a "private repo"?

Any repo where the owner has set visibility to private on GitHub or GitLab. If you have to authenticate to access it, it's private.

Can I try the Team plan before paying?

Yes — start a 14-day free trial from any Team CTA. No credit card required. At the end of the trial, you'll see your usage stats and a recommendation to upgrade or downgrade.

What happens to my threads if I cancel?

Your threads are stored in our database. If you downgrade to Free, threads on private repos become read-only. If you cancel entirely, you have 30 days to export your thread data in JSON format.

Do you offer discounts for open-source projects?

Public repos are already free, so most open-source work doesn't need a paid plan. If your open-source org needs private repos for pre-release discussion, contact us — we offer non-profit and OSS org discounts.
